Bobcat Fans To Determine Greatest Men's Basketball Moment In Convo History

ATHENS, Ohio - Ohio Athletics will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Convocation Center when the Bobcat men's basketball team squares off with Tulsa on Dec. 3, and as part of the festivities, the department is calling on fans to vote for the greatest men's basketball moment in the history of The Convo.

Votes can be cast by clicking here, or through the link on the sidebar of the men's basketball page of ohiobobcats.com. Fans will be asked to choose their favorite Convo moment from the following 10 choices, listed in no particular order:

- Clinching the 1969-70 Mid-American Conference title in front of a conference-record crowd of 14,102 fans

- Dave Jamerson's 60-point game against Charleston on Dec. 21, 1989

- Geno Ford dribbling out the clock in Ohio's 67-65 win over Miami on Feb. 15, 1997

- Opening The Convo on Dec. 3, 1968, with an 80-70 victory over Indiana

- The creation of the OZone

- The raising of the 1994 Preseason NIT championship banner

- The honoring of Walter Luckett, Dave Jamerson and Jim Snyder on Jan. 24, 2007

- Watching Gary Trent become the only three-time MAC Player of the Year in league history

- Winning back-to-back home games over No. 4 Ohio State and No. 12 Indiana during December of 1971

- Brandon Hunter's school-record 26 rebounds in a quadruple-overtime win over Akron on Jan. 8, 2003

Voting will open on Wednesday, Nov. 12, and continue through Wednesday, Nov. 26. The five most-voted upon moments in Convo history will be revealed in the week leading up to Ohio's clash with Tulsa on Wednesday, Dec. 3, at 7 p.m. ET.

In conjunction with the 40th anniversary celebration, tickets for the Tulsa game will be sold for just $1, and parking for the event will be free of charge. The homage to The Convo will also include photo boards displaying prominent memories from the building's first 40 years of existence, a tribute to the 1968-69 Ohio men's basketball team, a Toys for Tots drive to support children in need during the holiday season and various features on Bobcat TV.
