Eric Sholtis is in his second year as the Bobcats' defensive graduate assistant. Sholtis was a student volunteer with the Bobcats in 2004. In addition to his overall defensive duties, Sholtis works with the defensive line, specifically the defensive ends. He also works with the offensive scout team and assists the Bobcats' staff with film study and opponent scouting.

During his one season as a student assistant, Sholtis aided the defensive staff in day-to-day duties, and was responsible for charting opponents' plays on game day. He also worked with the academic services department monitoring study tables.

Before joining the Bobcats, Sholtis was an assistant coach for two seasons at Shenandoah High School. He worked with the running backs and linebackers in 2003 and the running backs and defensive ends in 2004. His responsibilities also included scouting and assisting in game planning. Sholtis helped the team to a 12-1 mark and a No. 2 ranking in the Associated Press poll in 2003.

Sholtis completed his B.S. in integrated social studies education at Ohio in 2006. He is currently pursuing a master's degree in sports administration.
