Iowa Western CC team was a conference champion in 2010 and played in bowl games in both 2010 and 2011... During his prep career at Saint Albert High School, he helped his squad earn two Iowa State titles, playing both wide receiver and quarterback... Was selected as a two-time First Team All-State honoree... Earned four varsity letters in football and basketball... Lettered for three years in track and field and once in soccer... Was teammates with fellow newcomer Tyler Branz.
