Recap |  Final Stats |  Notes

Eastern Michigan Head Coach Jeff Genyk

"From a fans perspective it was an exciting game. From an Eastern Michigan perspective, we needed to play better. I believe we missed a couple key 4 and 1's. I'm proud of the comeback and that we kept fighting."

Ohio Head Coach Frank Solich

On scoring on Ohio's first four possessions of the game:

We wanted to get a good start in this football game; we wanted to score first and not have to battle from behind like we have been doing here lately.

On Brad Bower's performance:

I thought that he had an excellent game; just his general leadership and ability to control things in the huddle and at the line of scrimmage are big.   He threw the ball well, his completion rate was up today, and he made some big plays.

On Theo Scott:

I'm glad we were able to get Theo snaps. We thought that we would get him more snaps in this ball game, but we will keep developing him because we think that he is going to be an excellent player for us.

On having two quarterbacks:

We aren't looking to get into a quarterback controversy. We want to have two quarterbacks who are ready to go and on top of their game and I think that we can do that.  I am not a big proponent of two-quarterback systems, but there are things that Brad can do and really do well and there are things that Theo can do and really do well, and there may be opportunities in games to do both.

On Ohio's defensive performance:

We need to get better in our pass defense, but I give them credit for being able to come up with the stops along the way on fourth downs which means you are doing something good.

On Michael Braunstein:

He's got the kind of personality that you want in a kicker and one of those guys who isn't bothered by being under pressure.

On coming back after the four game losing streak:

The one thing that we would never do is give up on one another.  I am proud of the way that they have reacted. They have had a tough go, but that is the way that it works.  You have to keep balance and understand that if you keep working hard and practice the way you should, you are going to get your opportunities in games, and when you get those opportunities you have to make them work.  Today was a good day with that.

Ohio Running Back Kalvin McRae

"This win was very important.  The MAC is a very competitive conference and we understand that the season's not over. I really feel that once we get our offense, defense, and special teams working together, we're going to be a hard team to beat.

Ohio Quarterback Brad Bower

"I'm just happy that we put all assets of the game together- our running game, our passing game, everything. I had time back there to make decisions.  The line did great and Kalvin did great at picking up people when they did come.  We made the plays when we needed them. We were able to go out there and play ball the way we know how to play.

Ohio Wide Receiver Taylor Price

"We came out excited and with a lot of energy and we felt confident out there making plays. It all came together. Carter was open so I just had to put it up for him.  That's been working in practice and it worked today on the field.
