Ball State Head Coach Pete Lembo
On the team's effort
" We got a lot of big plays on defense and a few on offense too and we had to be a little bit creative to get some of those things done throughout the game."
On the team's attitude this week
"We challenged the guys all week and we had to step up and make plays to beat an established program."
On the Ball State special teams
"We said all year our specialists were the most consistent part of our team and they certaintly stepped up under some tough conditions today."
Ohio Head Coach Frank Solich
On the game
"When you're playing a good football team and you know it's going to be a close game, turnovers are usually a deciding factor. We were able to make some big plays on offense, but we would have liked to see more 50 or 60 yard sustained drives when we could have put some more points on the board."
On the turnovers
"When you lose the turnover battle 3-0 that is a big issue. You just can't have those things happen to you in one game and not get any from the other team and expect to come out in front."
On Matt Weller's field goal at the end of the game
"He (Matt Weller) was coming off a great game against Buffalo, having made three field goals and he was doing very well in practice, so he was our best shot at the end of the game. When you have a kicker that is as good as it gets in the MAC that is an opportunity that you give him."
On the team's attitude moving forward
"We need to make sure we stick together and look at this in a manner that we all need to do better, offensively, defensively and special teams. We can play better and we can coach better."
On the career of LaVon Brazill
"He's been a special player in the program and his numbers indicate that obviously. He's been great to work with and he's a guy that's done the right things off the field, so I was really happy to see him get the record today."
