OHIO

Frank Solich

On the victory

"Really a great football game. I’m glad that that type of game came around on national TV. I think it’s good for our program and our university and I’m certainly proud of our players for hanging in there and winning the game in the manner that they did."

"You look at Dante’s numbers, his total yards in the 300’s with 186 yards rushing and a 9.2 yard per carry average and you don’t have numbers like that against anybody, much less a great defense like they have so it was a super game for him. Lavon had some big catches and there were just a lot of key performances for us on offense."

"I thought the offense played a complete game. Up front Temple is big and they are really fast and they get a lot of sacks. The thing that we were really concerned about was establishing field position and you can’t do that when you’re getting sacked or tackled for loss."

Donte Harden

On closing out an important game

"Finishing off the game is something we prepare for daily. It’s all execution. You just have to stay focused and stayed tuned into the game and keep executing. Coach called a great play and we just got it done."

On the performance of Tyler Tettleton

"He’s a key factor in our victories. He’s a double threat and he keeps defenses off balance."

On his contributions to the team

"It’s just something I want to do week in and week out. Be able to contribute to the team. I play a major role on this team and I want to continue to do that (on breaking the single game all-purpose yards record)."

LaVon Brazill

On the performance of quarterback Tyler Tettleton

"He’s been playing great. Making a ton of plays with his legs and his arm and he’s just one heck of a player."

Noah Keller

On facing Temple’s offense

"It’s just a scheme thing. They run a lot of wildcat and usually we have an extra man down in the box but at the same time he can still throw it. The biggest thing we were focused on was their rushing attack with their workhorse backs. Clearly they still rushed for quite a few yards but it wasn’t from their backs so the defense didn’t play well but we did play good enough."

Tyler Tettleton

On getting the big win over Temple

"It feels really good to finally pull out that late win especially against them and being on ESPN at home. Hopefully it gives us some momentum going into the rest of the season and an advantage at the top of the MAC East."

TEMPLE

Head Coach Steve Addazio

On the overall play of his team:

“It’s hard to digest it all right now. It’s a tough loss, but our kids played really hard. I’m proud of the way they battled. You get on the road in a big game like this, but I thought we handled it all pretty well. Chris Coyer came in and played really well and our team just kept fighting and clawing. There was never any sign that our guys were doing anything but trying to win that football game.”

On the play of quarterback Chris Coyer:

“I thought that kid did a marvelous job, for really, the first time in his career, starting and playing significantly. We wanted to be a spread offense team with a power run game and I think you saw tonight where we might be headed.”

On the morale of the team after the game:

“It’s just such a hard loss to take in. We just have to keep battling and go back and see. We gave up a lot of yards, but after such a devastating loss last week, I was proud of how our guys bounced back.”

Punter Brad McManus

On the fake punt play in the fourth quarter:

“It’s called a rugby option. We like to rugby punt a lot. You read off the end man and you decide if he’s there or not. It worked this time so this could definitely be a play that we could use in the future.”

Quarterback Chris Coyer

On his performance tonight

“Since I’ve been here I’ve been told to prepare as if you’re a starter. When my number was called I stepped up. We played a hard game and I’m proud of our guys who left it all out there.”

On the loss outweighing his individual performance:

“There were a couple plays out there that I made and some others I left on the field. Those plays could have put us in a better position to win the game. There is a little bit of good in the fact that I played well, but there was just too much left on the field and maybe we could have won the game.”
