Ohio-Bowling Green Postgame Notes

Sophomore running back Vince Davidson earned his first-career start in the Ohio backfield against Bowling Green. He finished with a career-high 16 carries for a career-best 66 yards.
Junior defensive end Conor Reilly recorded a half sack in the first quarter, his first sack of any kind on the season. He now has 2.0 sacks for his career. Fellow junior defensive end Kris Luchsinger grabbed the other half sack, giving him 2.0 sacks on the year. Senior defensive end Jameson Hartke recorded his third sack of the season in the first quarter for a seven-yard loss.
Sophomore linebacker Noah Keller notched his first sack of the season in the second quarter for a nine-yard loss. He has 2.5 sacks for his career. The Bobcats finished the game with three total sacks.
Ohio was shutout in the first half against Bowling Green. It was the first time the Bobcats haven’t scored in the first half, since Sept. 20 when Northwestern led Ohio 16-0 at halftime.
Sophomore wide receiver LaVon Brazill caught a career-long 41-yard pass in the third quarter from Boo Jackson, which put Ohio in the red zone for the first time in the game.
Junior quarterback Brandon Jones completed a career-best seven passes for a career-high 92 yards.
Junior cornerback Thad Turner tied a career-high with four solo tackles in the game.
The Bobcats were held without a touchdown for the first time all season. It marked the first time that had happened since Nov. 15, 2005, when Ohio lost at Akron 27-3. That game also was the last time Ohio was held to just three points.
The Bobcats had fewer penalties (six to BG’s seven) than its opponent for the first time this season. |
