BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- The Ohio University football team (6-4, 3-3 MAC) dropped a 49-0 decision to Mid-American Conference East Division foe Bowling Green (7-3, 5-1 MAC) Tuesday night at Doyt Perry Stadium.
The Bobcats fell behind 21-0 in the first quarter and never recovered, losing their second straight league contest on the road. The Falcons took a 35-0 edge into the locker room.
In the second half, BGSU added two more touchdowns to make the count 49-0. The Bobcats threatened to score at the start of the fourth quarter, but redshirt senior quarterback Tyler Tettleton (Norman, Okla.) threw an interception, which was returned 82 yards.
Tettleton finished the night by going 15-of-27, throwing for 93 yards.
Redshirt junior safety Josh Kristoff (Pickerington, Ohio) and redshirt sophomore linebacker Ben Russell (Cincinnati, Ohio) led the way defensively with eight tackles.
Redshirt senior defensive lineman Nic Barber (Newark, Ohio) and redshirt senior defensive back Xavier Hughes (Germantown, Md.) also chipped in defensively. Barber recorded his first sack of the year, while Hughes tallied his fifth turnover of the year as registered his team-best fourth interception.
As a team, Ohio was outgained 460-172. The 172 yards of total offense was the fewest the Bobcats have totaled this year.
