-Ohio was 31-7 when leading after the first quarter since 2005 coming into this game.

-This was the 19th meeting between Ohio and Northern Illinois, and with the win NIU now leads the series 10-9. The first time the teams met was Nov. 23, 1968 with Ohio coming out on top 28-12.

-Ohio forced three turnovers in the first half, two fumbles and one interception.

-This was the first time this season that Northern Illinois has been shut out in the first half.

-Ohio dominated the first down ratio in the first half with 15 to Northern Illinois' 4, as well as time of possession (19:21 to 10:39).

-Quarterback Tyler Tettleton connected with wide receiver LaVon Brazill on seven of his 13 first-half completions.

-Brazill finished with 124 yards on the night and now ranks 10th-all time in MAC Championship history in receiving yards. His 124-yard effort was the sixth 100-yard receiving effort on the year.

-Northern Illinois committed a season-high four turnovers on the night.

-Ohio's first punt of the game came on their first drive of the second half at the 10:13 mark.

-Northern Illinois scored its first points with a 19-yard Harnish pass to Nathan Palmer at the 6:19 mark of the 3rd quarter, cutting Ohio's lead to 20-7.

-Ohio was 43-6 when leading after the 3rd quarter since 2005 coming into the game.

-Matt Weller missed a 36-yard field goal with 13:22 left in the 4th quarter, his first miss inside the 40 yard line this season.
