Ohio 24, Utah State 23 - Postgame Notes
Famous Idaho Potato Bowl
-Ohio earned its first-ever bowl victory following the 24-23 victory over Utah State.
-The win also handed the Bobcats' their first 10-win season since 1968.
-With the victory, Ohio finished the season with four wins in its last five games, which is the best finish to a season since 2000.
-The Bobcats have now won 46 games since 2006, which is the most by any Mid-American Conference school during that period.
-With the win, Ohio head coach Frank Solich earned his 50th career victory at Ohio and improved to 3-0 all-time against Utah State.
-Solich also collected his first bowl victory since the 2000 Alamo Bowl. During his 13-year career, Solich has won three bowl games. He has also won 10-or-more games in a single season four times throughout his career.
-Teams for the Mid-American Conference are now 2-0 in bowl games. Temple defeated Wyoming earlier today.
-Sophomore quarterback Tyler Tettleton accounted for three touchdowns (two passing and one rushing) and passed for 220 yards through the air. Tettleton has thrown for two-or-more touchdowns in 11 games this season.
-Tettleton has passed for over 200 yards in 11 games this season.
-Junior kicker Matt Weller scored six points against Utah State and is now the single-season scoring leader with 123 points in 2011.
-Senior wide receiver LaVon Brazill finished the game with eight receptions for 108 yards. He is now the single season leader with 74 receptions in 2011.
-Brazill's eight receptions tied a season-high, while his 108 receiving yards marked the seventh time this season he has surpassed 100 yards.
-Freshman tight end Derek Roback hauled in his first career touchdown pass in the second quarter.
