ATHENS, Ohio - Members of the Ohio University Football team took time this past Saturday morning to serve pancakes at Applebee's on East State Street to benefit the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program of Athens County.
In addition to serving pancakes, Ohio football players bused tables, washed dishes and sat those who attended the annual fundraiser.
"These guys were great to work with this morning," said Community Based Program Coordinator Eric Long. "The guys have done a great job mingling with the public and they've really stepped up for a great cause."
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Athens County was founded in 1986 to provide at-risk children in the community with dedicated adult mentors. The group currently serves over 200 children annually.
