Athens, Ohio - Head Coach Frank Solich
On overall feelings toward the beginning of spring practice:
"It's great to get on the field again and start working with players. That's what coaches love to do, they love to get out and practice. It's a little frustrating when you start up again in the spring because it has been so long. You have a number of people that are coming out for the first time and you're also trying to get them reps. So it doesn't go real smooth at the beginning."
On first impressions and picking up where they left off:
"I would like to think that the attitude of the guys is to keep getting better. We have some unfinished business that we want to take care of so it is a matter of using these practices to do the best we can. We want to take these practices and utilize them and see where we are at the end of them."
Quarterback Boo Jackson
On how he's doing personally and being limited in the spring:
"You know me, I've been here two years and whatever injury I have I just want to be on that field. It's going to be a good thing because it will give Phil Bates more reps and Tyler Tettleton will get to learn more. You always want your quarterback to have experience with the playbook and the players around him so I think that's what will happen here with those two individuals."
On unfinished business:
"It's very much like the first year here even though we went 4-8. We had a bitter taste in our mouth and we just went on a roll throughout the MAC. Now coming off a 9-5 season, we feel like we have unfinished business. The bowl game and the MAC Championship ... we didn't play well. Now we have a lot of guys coming back with bad tastes in their mouths and every one one of those guys is going to step up their game this year because of those last two games.
