Official Release From The Hamilton Tiger-Cats
ATHENS, Ohio - Former Ohio University football quarterback Tyler Tettleton signed a free agent contract on Friday with the Canadian Football League's Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
"I couldn't be more thankful for this opportunity with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats," Tettleton said. "I would like to thank my coaches and teammates for their support during my career at Ohio. Without them, none of this would be possible. I look forward to the opportunity and I can't wait to get started."
Tettleton (Norman, Okla.) earned the free agent contract after he authored one of the finest playing careers in school history.
In three years as the Bobcats' starting quarterback, he helped guide Ohio to the 2011 Mid-American Conference East Division crown, a pair of bowl victories, including its first-ever bowl triumph in the 2011 Famous Idaho Potato Bowl and the program's first 10-win season since 1968.
He also set 27 school records, became the first quarterback in school history to surpass 9,000 yards through the air and threw 67 touchdown passes during his career in Athens.
