Head Coach Frank Solich

On the injuries:

It's starting to mount on us a little bit, which will cause us to look at how we're practicing. We've been having two team stations for each teamwork period. The good thing about that is that it gives guys a lot of reps. The bad thing about it is that its gets guys banged up a little more frequently. Everybody wants reps in the spring because they want to try to move up the depth chart.

On the hire of new Director of Athletics Jim Schaus:

He's had success at Wichita State and has been able to do a lot of things there. He's been a good fundraiser as well and I think that's something that will benefit us in the long run.

Fullback Mitch Morsillo

On being named a "Super Iron Bobcat":

It's something that I've worked toward for two or three years now. I know it made our coaches happy. They were maybe happier than I. It was definitely a goal that I always had.

On his impressions of the younger guys:

They're hungry. They can step in and make a big difference next year and have a good heart for the game. They're good guys all around and I like that about them more than anything. I know that they're going to be good football players because our guys recruited them.

Safety Hilton Dawson III

On his adjustment to Ohio:

It's different from California, but I'm adjusting. I like it a lot right now.

On his adjustment from junior college football to Football Bowl Subdivision football:

The biggest adjustment for me has been the pace. It took a toll on me the first couple of days; that's why I've been stretching more. My legs are coming around a bit and my body is adjusting slowly but surely.

On the competition at safety:

Mike Mitchell and Steven Jackson are great players. I've learned a lot from them just watching them in meetings in how they study and prepare. It's just healthy competition and you can't ask for anything better. I'm pushing them and they're pushing me and the best guy is going to get the spot.

On what he brings to the table:

I bring a West Coast attitude and I'm a guy that is hard-nosed with a physical style of play. I bring a lot of energy on the field and to the team and that's the most important thing.

On Boo Jackson, who was his teammate at El Camino:

Boo is one of my best friends. He's been a teammate and a roommate of mine and I like to just pick his brain about certain things.
