2008 Spring Practice-Day 14

Ohio's Julian Posey

April 23, 2008

Sophomore defensive back Julian Posey

On the injuries:

We definitely need somebody to step up because we're missing some key players. We just need some people to step up, assert themselves and fill those gaps.

On whether or not there are bragging rights riding out the outcome of the spring game:

Oh, definitely. Last year, I played on both teams, but the team I played on the most won. There are definitely bragging rights involved so you want to give it your all during the game. We just want to show the fans and the coaches what they're going to get in the future. I just to give people a good luck and have them leave saying, "Hey, this kid's going to be great in the future". My goal is to solidify myself as a key player by the end of the spring.

Junior quarterback Theo Scott

On his progress this spring:

I'm progressing every day and learning the little things that the coaches want you to do. The key is just having a good attitude and being willing to learn.

On his performances in the first two scrimmages:

I try not to worry too much about my performance. I just try to get everybody in the right places and keep people involved. Right now is a bonding time and I'm just trying to showcase more of a leadership quality this year.

On his leadership:

You can't just go out there and say, "Yeah, I'm the leader". You have to go out and gain the respect of your teammates. So it's not for me to say whether or not I'm a leader, that's up to the team. It's not about me out here; it's about the team.

On the spring game:

You have to just go out there and execute the things that the coaches have been talking about the whole spring and have fun.
