Bobcat senior Dennis Thompson is listed as a second-team All-MAC selection by Phil Steele's College Football Preview.

ATHENS, Ohio – Senior offensive tackle Dennis Thompson (Tallmadge) is listed on the preseason second-team All Mid-American Conference squad chosen by Phil Steele's College Football Preview.

Thompson completed his return from a near-career ending injury in 2002 when he started at left tackle in the 2003 season opener. He played in all 12 games (starting all but the season finale) and led the team in plays (829), pancakes (21) and knockdowns (165). Thompson graded out at 75 percent or better in every game, reaching 80 percent nine times. He finished the season at 85 percent overall and recorded the best grade on the team all year when he reached 94 percent against Kent State.

Three other Bobcats were on the magazine's fourth team -- defensive end Kevin Carberry (Oak Lawn, Ill.), linebacker Dennis Chukwuemeka (Huntington, W. Va.) and cornerback Dion Byrum (Matthews, N.C.) as a punt returner.
