DETROIT, Mich. – For the second consecutive season, the Ohio University football team has been picked to win the Mid-American Conference East Division as the league announced its preseason poll Tuesday morning.  The poll was announced at the league’s annual Football Media Day at Ford Field and was determined by members of the league’s media outlets.

Ohio totaled 164 votes and garnered 15 first-place votes en route to the favorite spot in the East Division.  The Bobcats return 49 letter winners and 16 starters from last year’s 9-4 team that earned an invitation to the AdvoCare V100 Independence Bowl.

Ohio won its second consecutive bowl game with a 45-14 win over Louisiana-Monroe. Ohio head coach Frank Solich will see the Bobcats return senior starting quarterback Tyler Tettleton, who threw for 2,844 yards and 18 touchdowns, and senior starting running back Beau Blankenship, who rushed for 1,604 yards and 16 scores, to lead the Ohio offense.
