DETROIT - The Ohio University football team was picked to finish third in the 2014 Mid-American Conference Football Preseason Poll. The poll was announced today at the league's annual Football Media Day at Ford Field and was determined by members of the league's media members.

Ohio totaled 107 votes to earn the third slot in the MAC East Division.

The Bobcats return 45 letterwinners and 15 starters from last year's squad that finished the 2013 campaign with a 7-6 record (4-4 MAC) and an appearance in the Beef `O' Brady's Bowl in St. Petersburg, Fla. The Bobcats are one of 21 teams nationally that have played in five straight bowl games.

Head coach Frank Solich begins his 10th on the sideline for the Bobcats.

The 2014 season kicks off on Thursday, August 28 with three non-conference games. Ohio opens the year

The 2014 Marathon MAC Football Championship Game is Friday, December 5 at 7:00 pm from Ford Field in Detroit.
