FIRST AND 10
-Ohio enters the 2012 campaign after posting its first-ever bowl victory in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl and its first 10 win season since 1968.
-The Bobcats will look to become bowl eligible for the fifth time in the last seven years.
-The Bobcats will also be in search of their fourth MAC East title under the direction of head coach Frank Solich.
-Ohio returns 15 starters from last year's squad that won its first-ever bowl game. Five of Ohio's returning starters received Mid-American Conference All-League honors, including place kicker Matt Weller as he was named Special Teams Player of the Year.
-Quarterback Tyler Tettleton also returns for his junior season after he accounted for 38 touchdowns and became the first Ohio signal-caller to throw for over 3,000 yards.
FOUR BOBCATS NAMED TO NCFA PRESEASON WATCH LISTS
This preseason, Ohio has had four players named to the National College Football Awards Association (NCFAA) annual preseason watch list.

TETTLETON SELECTED TO THE MANNING AWARD WATCH LIST
Quarterback Tyler Tettleton was named to the 2012 Manning Award Watch List. The list includes 25 of the top quarterbacks in the nation heading into the 2012 season. The winner will be announced after the bowls in January and will be honored at a ceremony in New Orleans.
OHIO FOOTBALL ANNOUNCES 2012 CAPTAINS
Cornerback Travis Carrie, safety Gerald Moore, quarterback Tyler Tettleton and tight end Jordan Thompson have been named captains for the 2012 Ohio University football team. The four Bobcats were selected in a vote conducted by their teammates. All four players have been named to the Phil Steele Preseason All-MAC Team.
OHIO EARNS 14 SPOTS ON THE PHIL STEELE PRESEASON ALL-MAC TEAM
The Ohio University football team earned a league-high 14 spots on the 2012 Phil Steele Preseason All-Mid-American Conference football team. The teams appeared in Phil Steele's College Football Preview magazine, which hit newsstands on June 5. Seniors Eric Herman (Oregon, Ohio), Tremayne Scott (Ocala, Fla.), Travis Carrie (Antioch, Calif.) and Matt Weller (Twinsburg, Ohio) were all named to the publication's First Team.
LOOKING AHEAD TO THE 2012 SCHEDULE
Ohio will opens the 2012 season on Sept. 1 as it heads to Penn State where it will faceoff against the Nittany Lions for the first time since 1974 in at nationally televised contest on ESPN, beginning at Noon. The Bobcats open their home slate on Sept. 8 against New Mexico State. Ohio opens league play on Saturday, Sept. 29 when it travels to Massachusetts to take on the Minutemen inside Gillette Stadium. Ohio concludes its 2012 season with four mid-week games all of which will appear on the ESPN Family of Networks.

Ohio's matchup Penn State on Sept. 1, will be the 39th appearance for the Bobcats on the ESPN Family of Networks since 2005.
