Ohio Picked Second in the MAC East

DETROIT, Mich.-The Ohio football team was selected second in the MAC East at Friday's Mid-American Conference Media Day at Ford Field in Detroit.
Ohio won the division for the second time in four years last season.
The Bobcats, who earned 116 points and gained three first-place votes, were second only to Temple's 137 points and 16 first-place votes. Kent State was third (94), Bowling Green was fourth (74), Miami was fifth (53), Buffalo was sixth (48) and Akron was seventh (38).
Northern Illinois was selected to win the MAC West with 115 points and 15 first-place votes. Central Michigan was second with 83 (three first-place votes) and Western Michigan was third with 77 (two first-place votes). Toledo was fourth with 75, followed by Ball State (50) and Eastern Michigan (20).
The Bobcats also picked up one vote to emerge victorious at December's MAC Championship Game from the MAC's media contingent.
Ohio will kick off its 2010 season against Wofford on Sept. 4th at 7 p.m. ET in Peden Stadium. |
