ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio University football team reports to preseason camp on Monday in preparation for its 2013 season under the direction of ninth-year head coach Frank Solich. On Tuesday, the Bobcats will hold their first preseason practice of the year.

The ‘Cats will take part in 24 practices throughout preseason camp in preparation for their 2013 season-opener at No. 9 Louisville on Sept. 1. Each of Ohio’s practices is open to the general public.

Fans can follow the Bobcats throughout preseason camp through the following Twitter handles: @OhioBobcats, @OhioFootball, @Tom_Symonds, @Brett_Compton, @OhioBobcatOps, and @OhioBobcatsFBEQ. Ohio received eight votes in the first Coaches Poll of the 2013 season (released Aug. 1) and was selected to finish first in the Mid-American Conference’s East Division in a preseason poll of the league’s media entities. The Bobcats return 16 starters from last year’s squad, including senior running back Beau Blankenship (rushed for a school-record 1,604 yards in 2012) and senior quarterback Tyler Tettleton (threw for 2,844 yards and 18 touchdowns in 2012). The ‘Cats are coming off back-to-back bowl victories for the first time in program history, having won the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl in 2011 and the AdvoCare V100 Independence Bowl in 2012.
