Brian Knorr speaks to the newest Bobcats following Monday's first practice.
Athens, Ohio - The Ohio football program began its quest for a Mid-American Conference championship this morning with a 90-minute workout involving 17 newcomers.
Brian Knorr, entering his first season as the Bobcats' head coach, was pleased with the first session. "It's great to start things off," he said. "We've had a lot of anticipation for this day. We have 17 new faces and are very excited about the talent level of this group."
The newcomers will endure a second practice this afternoon and two tomorrow before being joined by the veterans. The Bobcats have meetings and Picture Day scheduled for Wednesday, then hit the field for the first time as a full squad Thursday morning.
Two-a-day practices continue through Aug. 22. Scrimmages will take place on Aug. 15, 18 and 22.
