NELSONVILLE, Ohio — Rocky Brands has signed a three-year deal giving the footwear manufacturer exclusive naming rights to the Bobcat Student Park tailgate area set to debut this fall at Ohio University home football games.
"Rocky is proud to be a partner with the Bobcats’ athletic program," said Mike Brooks, Rocky Brands CEO. "Our contract with the university will support a variety of business goals and growth initiatives."
Ohio Athletics has billed the Rocky Bobcat Student Park, adjacent to Peden Stadium, as the new home for student tailgating. Featuring inflatable games, food and music, the park will open September 5th and is expected to draw more than 20,000 students in its inaugural season according to Associate Athletic Director Dan Hauser.
“Rocky has a long tradition among the people of Southeastern Ohio for delivering quality products,” Hauser said. “This sponsorship gives Rocky a unique way to showcase its ongoing support of the community and local endeavors.”
The agreement gives Rocky a presence through the 2011 season at all home game functions, including commercial displays, the Rocky Party Tent and fan promotions. University students will also receive exclusive offers to the Rocky Outdoor Gear Store.
“This is just one of the ways we can partner with the athletic department,” concluded Brooks. “We’re also exploring the option of hosting a Bobcats event at the Rocky Outlet store in Nelsonville. It should be a lot of fun!”
