Senior Linebacker Noah Keller
On being back in camp:
We've been hitting the ground running. It's been fast, that's for sure. It was nice to have that time off, but everyone started getting anxious. It's been nice the past couple days to get in (half) pads on and get some hitting in.
On how the team has been progressing through the first few days of camp:
The younger guys are kind of swimming, so I'm just making sure, being in my fourth year, that I'm bringing those guys along with me.
On what he is doing personally to improve:
There are still a lot of things I can work on. Every offseason I can get bigger, faster and stronger, and that's been one of my goals. I can always take it to the next level. You start off as a freshman just trying to learn the defense, but now I have a good feel for the defense so I try to learn more of what offenses are doing. I try to pick the brains of offensive coordinators to get a feel for what I might be going up against.
On going to full pads in practice soon:
We're definitely looking forward to it. Even though it's been just half pads the last couple days, it's been pretty physical out here. Full pads will just add a little bit more. This defense is a group of physical guys, so we're excited for it.
Senior Wide Receiver LaVon Brazill
On being named to the Fred Biletnikoff Award watch list:
It's an honor to be named but it won't mean all that much unless I win it. I'm just out here getting ready to play for the season. I'm here to go hard every day and to be honest, I don't even really pay any attention to the preseason hype. I just want to focus on what we're doing here as a team so we're ready to compete.
On things the wide receiver corps is trying to improve:
Right now, we're doing alright. We still need to develop better relationships with the quarterbacks. That's something we tried, as a unit, to do over the summer so now it's time to put it all together.
On what he did to prepare during the offseason:
I wanted to work on my speed, my route-running ability, catching the ball and blocking. Those are the things I have to do out here on the field so I tried to improve in all those areas. I'm trying to clean some things up, polish my whole game, and blocking was a spot where I thought I needed to improve. Being able to crack a safety or come down on a corner, making sure I stay square, those are all techniques that Coach Dixon tries to instill in us.
