ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio ticket office will offer a special two-for-one promotion this week in conjunction with the grand opening of the Athens
    Wal-Mart on Wednesday.

Football tickets for the Bobcats' home opener against Northeastern on Sept. 7th will be available on a buy-one-get-one-free basis Wednesday through Saturday at the new superstore.

Representatives of Ohio Athletics will be on hand Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Free posters and schedule cards will also be available to the public.

"This is Ohio Athletics' way of showing our excitement over Wal-Mart's arrival," said Shelley Binegar, director of ticket operations. "We want to make sure that everyone in the community has the opportunity to see the Bobcats in action. Hopefully, when people come to experience the first game, they'll want to come back again."

Those in attendance for the home opener will have the chance to cheer several Bobcat greats of the past as part of Hall of Fame Day.

The Bobcats' game against the Huskies will be the first of five home contests this season. Buffalo (on Sept. 28th), Eastern Michigan (Oct. 12th), Akron (Nov. 9th) and Marshall (Nov. 23rd) will also visit Athens this fall.

The Bobcats are currently in two-a-day preseason practices and will begin the 2002 season at Pittsburgh on Aug. 31st.
