Ohio Holds Second Scrimmage of #OhioFBCamp13

ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio University football team held its second scrimmage of fall camp Tuesday morning at Peden Stadium. The Bobcats offensive unit scored a pair of touchdowns as the team took part in 52 live plays in full pads.

Following the scrimmage, quarterback Tyler Tettleton (Norman, Okla.) and running back Beau Blankenship (Norman, Okla.) spoke with reporters.

Redshirt freshman quarterback JD Sprague (Cincinnati, Ohio) and freshman tight end Mason Morgan (Cincinnati, Ohio) both scored touchdowns during the team's second scrimmage. Sprague's found the endzone after he rushed in from 15 yards out, while Morgan hauled in a nine-yard touchdown pass from redshirt sophomore quarterback Derrius Vick (Lincoln, Neb.).

Sprague's 15-yard touchdown run was one of four carries he had during the scrimmage. He finished the scrimmage with a 43 yards rushing and 37 yards passing.

Junior Tim Edmond (Cincinnati, Ohio) also had a strong effort in running the ball as he dashed for 43 yards on just three carries. Edmond also had the longest play of the scrimmage as he rushed 42 yards, which put the offense in a first and goal situation. Blankenship finished the scrimmage with 37 yards on four carries.

Sophomore defensive back Blake Scipio (Hillard, Ohio), redshirt sophomore Aaron Macer (Twinsburg, Ohio) and redshirt sophomore Mike Terpin (Pittsburgh, Pa.) paced the team defensively with three tackles. Macer also added a sack, while Scipio tallied a pass break up.

Junior Cameron McLeod (McLain, Miss.) and redshirt sophomore Brandon Purdum (London, Ohio) also chipped in with a sack.

On special teams, place kicker Matt Green (Lexington, Ky.) went 2-for-2 in field goals. The redshirt sophomore kicker connected from 29 and 44 yards out.
