NEW HAVEN, Conn.-Ohio senior running back Kalvin McRae (Decatur, Ga.) has been named to Walter Camp Football Foundation's "Watch List" for its prestigious Player of the Year award, the nation's fourth-oldest individual college football accolade. McRae was the only player from the Mid-American Conference to make the list.

"It feels good to know that the things I've done on the field are being noticed on a national level," said McRae, a two-year captain for the squad. "This is great publicity, not only for myself, but for the university as a whole."

The watch list will be narrowed to ten semi-finalists in early November. The 2007 Walter Camp Player of the Year recipient, which is voted on by the 119 NCAA Bowl Subdivision head coaches and sports information directors, will be announced on the ESPN/Home Depot College Football Awards Show in December. The winner will then receive his trophy at the Foundation's annual national awards banquet on January 12, 2008 at the Yale University Commons in New Haven.

The is the second such honor for McRae, as he was also included on the preseason watch list for the Maxwell Award. He was also one of five Bobcats named preseason All-MAC by MAC Report Online. The 5-11 back needs just 1,009 rushing yards this season to break the school's all-time rushing record.
