- The 2014 Ohio Football season marks the 10th year under the direction of head coach Frank Solich
In the previous nine seasons, Solich and his staff have directed the Bobcats to one of the finest runs in program history amassing 66 wins, three MAC East Division titles and two bowl victories.
Along the way, Ohio has notched numerous signature wins, but which win ranks among the top 10? We put it to you - "The Best Fans in the MAC" - to vote on the Top 10 games of the Frank Solich
era. Now that the votes have been tallied, OhioBobcats.com will conduct a Top 10 countdown leading up to the 'Cats 2014 season-opener at Kent State. After opening the 2012 season on a high note, the Ohio Football team closed the year in similar fashion as it downed Louisiana-Monroe 45-14 to pick up its second-straight bowl victory in the AdvoCare V100 Independence Bowl.
The Bobcat offense exploded in the win, amassing a bowl-record 556 total yards and setting multiple Independence Bowl records in the process. Running back Beau Blankenship
led the way on the ground for Ohio, carrying the ball 19 times for a total of 105 yards and a bowl-record four touchdowns. Quarterback Tyler Tettleton
also posted a strong performance as he went 14-of-22 for 331 yards and two touchdowns.
Both Blankenship and Tettleton earned Co-Offensive MVP honors. Linebacker Keith Moore
earned Defensive Most Valuable Player honors after he finished with nine tackles, two sacks and two tackles for loss.
