ATHENS, Ohio - Sophomore quarterback Tyler Tettleton was named Mid-American Conference East Player of the Week for the second time this season on Monday after he helped Ohio (4-1; 1-0 MAC) to a 17-10 victory over Kent State this past Saturday at Peden Stadium.
Tettleton (Norman, Okla.) earned the weekly honor after he threw for over 250 yards for the third-consecutive week, finishing with 276 yards passing. He completed a career-high 28 passes through the air and tossed a pair of touchdowns.
Through five games this season, Tettleton has thrown for 1,200 yards, 12 touchdowns and has only one interception to help Ohio get off to its best start to a season since 1997.
Tettleton has the second-best passing total by an Ohio sophomore quarterback all-time. He is also just 386 yards shy of cracking into the top 10 for the most yards in a single season by an Ohio quarterback.
