ATHENS, Ohio - Sophomore kicker Josiah Yazdaniwas selected as the Mid-American Conference East Division Player of the Week following his performance this past weekend in the Bobcats' Battle of the Bricks matchup against Miami.
Yazdani (Albany, Ohio) picked up his first MAC weekly honor after he drilled a pair of field goals, connecting from 24 and 33 yards out to remain perfect on the year (6-for-6).
He also was a perfect 4-for-4 on extra points. Yazdani has not missed an extra point all year as well. In addition, Yazdani had a 52.9 kickoff average.
By earning the weekly award, he becomes the fifth Ohio player to be honored by the league office this season and the first special teams player to receive the honor in 2013.
Kickoff for Ohio's contest at Buffalo is set for 8 p.m. on Nov. 5 and will be broadcast live on ESPN2. The game can also be heard live on the Ohio IMG Sports Radio Network on 18 stations and in three different states.
