Hartke, Brown Named Academic All-District

ATHENS, Ohio-Ohio senior captains Jameson Hartke and Michael Brown were named first and second-team Academic All-District, respectively, by ESPN The Magazine Thursday.
Hartke, a native of Centerville, Ohio, has 43 tackles (fifth on the team) from his defensive tackle position. He also has 4.5 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks (team-high), an interception, a pass breakup and a fumble recovery this season. He was also named first-team Midseason All-MAC by Phil Steele and was an Academic All-MAC selection as a sophomore and junior. He currently carries a 3.47 GPA as a Finance major.
Brown, a native of Cincinnati, Ohio, has overcome injuries this season to post 41 tackles from his linebacker spot. He also has 4.0 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, and one fumble return for touchdown in the win over VMI. He currently carries a 4.0 GPA in his pursuit of a Master’s degree in Coaching after finishing school with a 3.52 cumulative GPA in Finance.
The duo has helped Ohio build the Mid-American Conference’s top pass defense, yielding just 172.7 yards per game, a total that ranks 20th nationally.
Ohio will host Bowling Green Saturday at 2 p.m. in Peden Stadium. The Bobcats defeated the Falcons 38-27 a season ago. |
