BUFFALO, N.Y.-The Ohio football team (6-3, 4-1 MAC) travels to Buffalo (3-6, 1-4 MAC) Tuesday evening for a 7 p.m. showdown on ESPN2.
Ohio running back Chris Garrett ran 18 times for 48 yards, while Scott connected on 17 of 27 passes for 161 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in Ohio's 20-17 win at Ball State on Oct. 31. Wide receiver LaVon Brazill was a double threat of sorts for the Bobcats, rushing four times for 43 yards with six receptions for 82 yards. The receiving yardage put him over 1,000 yards for his career as well. Wideout Taylor Price also caught four passes to give him 129 catches for his career, which moved him into third all-time behind Tom Compernolle (144, 1983-86) and Todd Snyder (140, 1967-69).
Linebacker Noah Keller had a game-high 13 tackles and safety Gerald Moore was all over the field all day with 10 stops and his fourth interception of the season.
Kicker Matt Weller's field goals came from 39, 24, 52 and 41 yards on a very windy day. The 52-yarder tied Jim McKee (1962 vs. Miami) for the eighth-longest field goal in school history. The four field goals tied Michael Braunstein (vs. Wyoming-2007) and Barrett Way (at Kent State-2008) for the single-game school mark.
The Buffalo football team dropped a second straight heartbreaking game, losing a second half double-digit lead in a 30-29 loss to Bowling Green last Tuesday. The loss spoiled a breakout performance by freshman tailback Jeffvon Gill, who rushed for 172 yards on 23 carries after being pressed into duty when the Bulls' top two tailbacks were hurt.
Fans may listen to the game on the Citizens Bank Ohio ISP Sports Network with "Voice of the Bobcats" Russ Eisenstein, Rob Cornelius and Caleb Troop calling all of Tuesday's action. Airtime is 6 p.m. Eastern. |
