ATHENS, Ohio - Junior wide receiver Chase Cochran gives fans an inside look to bowl week as the Ohio University football team prepares for its matchup with East Carolina in the 2013 Beef `O' Brady's Bowl.
Today was the last off day till we leave for St. Petersburg on Friday. But just because we weren't on the field doesn't mean we weren't preparing for East Carolina.
9:00 am - Early this morning we took off for the Athens food bank, where we were able to give back to the local community packing boxed meals. The defense went the day before also did a great job. We always enjoy giving back to those who have supported us all season long.
12:00 - Once we arrive back in town it was time to grab some lunch before meetings. The menu today consisted of meatloaf, potatoes, and green beans. The perfect meal on a cold day.
1:00 - Everyone arrived back at Peden for special teams and position meetings. Even though we didn't get out on the field, coaches were in meeting rooms going over practice from the day before. Film becomes crucial for us as we prepare for this bowl game.
3:30 - It's time to grab treatment and head back home till dinner. Even though there are no students we find ways to enjoy some free time. Like we do during each bowl season, some friends on the team and I (Josh Kristoff, Brandon Atwell, Jerrid Marhefka) have a movie marathon. Without homework to do all night, we get to enjoy some free time. The movies of choice this year are Harry Potter. Tonight we are watching the Goblet of Fire.
6:00 - Time for some dinner so it's back to Boyd and that means the movies get put on pause until we get back. Tomorrow the day starts early with breakfast then back to Peden to get a lift in with Coach Sano and then it's practice in the afternoon.
We are getting closer to our departure day of Dec. 23. We look forward to seeing all the Bobcat fans down in Florida!
