LOGAN, Ohio - For the second time this year, members from the Ohio University football team volunteered their time to the Southeast Ohio Food Bank by loading 1,785 boxes of food to assist low income senior citizens.
The Bobcats sent two busses of players to the Southeast Ohio Food Bank last week as the team began preparation for the 2012 Advocare V100 Independence Bowl.
The offensive players went up to the food bank on Tuesday and loaded 812 boxes of food. On Wednesday, the defensive side of the ball went up to the food bank and loaded 975 boxes of food.
The Southeast Ohio Food Bank serves 10 counties in the area to assist low income senior citizens.
Last season at the 2011 Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, the Bobcats football team contributed 600 pounds of potato products to the Southeast Ohio Food Bank prior to their matchup with Utah State.
