SHREVEPORT, La. - The Ohio University football team arrived in Louisiana on Monday to begin preparation for the 2012 Advocare V100 Independence Bowl. The Bobcats will open practice on Tuesday before facing Louisiana-Monroe on Friday.

The Big Game Show Team Welcome Party
Wednesday, December 26

Riverview Hall - Downtown Shreveport
Before the teams compete on the field, they will have to battle it out in the "Big Game Show." The show will begin at 8:00 pm at Riverview Hall in downtown Shreveport. "The Big Game Show" is a friendly competition between the teams before they take the gridiron, which consists of coaches and players participating in three different game shows. Members of the audience will also have an opportunity to participate too. Click here to purchase tickets for the event.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes Breakfast

Bossier Civic Center
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes local chapter will sponsor a full breakfast for the players and coaches at the Bossier Civic Center. This event is open to the public, and tickets are just $5. Click here to purchase tickets for the event.

Ohio Alumni Golf Outing

East Ridge Country Club - Shreveport
Join fellow Ohio fans and alumni for a golf outing at the East Ridge Country Club, one of Shreveport's premier clubs. Space is limited, so get your group together or come alone to enjoy a fun round of golf. The cost for golf, a riding cart, range balls and lunch is $60, payable at event registration. There will be an optional $20 cash entry "tournament" for those interested in pitting their golf skill against the other players. To register, please RSVP to Ohio alum Jim Zander at zeker1@bellsouth.net by Tuesday, December 18. Please also include your golf handicap, or what you typically score for an 18 hole round of golf.

AT&T Pep Rally & Parade

Louisiana Boardwalk - Bossier City
Head out to the Louisiana Boardwalk in Bossier City the night before the game to catch the AT&T Pep Rally and Parade down the main street of the Boardwalk. Come get a taste of Louisiana Carnival Time featuring Mardi Gras Floats, as well as the bands, cheerleaders and mascots from each team. This event is free and open to the public!

MetroPCS Fan Fest

Hirsch Coliseum (Adjacent to Independence Stadium)
Get to the fairgrounds early on gameday and stop by the Hirsch Coliseum for the MetroPCS Fan Fest, featuring inflatables, interactive games, photo opportunities, local food, and live entertainment, including music by Windstorm. This event is free and open to the public!
