Senior Phil Gieseker leads Ohio after day one in Hilton Head.

HILTON HEAD ISLE, S.C. - The Ohio University men’s golf team sits in 15th place out of 17 teams at the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate after the first 36 holes of action Monday.
The Bobcats shot a combined 632 (+56) after putting forth identical rounds of 316 on Monday. South Carolina-Aiken leads the tournament with a combined score of 593 (+17), while Charleston Southern is second at 599 (+23).
Senior Phil Gieseker (Saline, Mich.) led the way for Ohio after posting a combined score of 155 (77-78, +11) over his first 36 holes of the event. Gieseker is tied for 47th in the 90 player field.
Freshman Peyton White (Huntersville, N.C.) followed up Gieseker with a combined 156 (77-79, +12) to tie for 53rd after two rounds. Junior Andrew Mlynarski posted 80 in both of his rounds to sit in a tie for 69th at +16 (160).
After opening with an 86 in round one, freshman Ty Herriott (Brandywine, Md.) improved his score by seven strokes in round two, carding a 79 to finish with a combined 165 (+21) and a tie for 82nd.
Rounding out the Ohio quintet was senior Bradley Lucas (Worthington, Ohio), who sits in 85th after firing scores of 82 and 87 (169, +25).
