HILTON HEAD ISLE, S.C. -The Ohio University men's golf team wrapped up competition at the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate on Tuesday in Hilton Head.
Ohio matched its score from rounds one and two (316) to finish with a combined score of 948 (+84). The mark placed Ohio 16th out of 17 teams at the event.
South Carolina-Aiken won two-day tournament with a combined score of 888 (+24) while Presbyterian finished one stroke behind at +25 (889).
Freshman Peyton White (Huntersville, N.C.) led Ohio in final round action, firing a 76 to finish with a combined score of 232 (77-79-76, +16). The score bumped him up three spots from his 36-hole position.
Senior Phil Gieseker (Saline, Mich.) carded an 81 (+9) Tuesday to finish with a 54-hole score of 236 (77-78-81, +20). Junior Andrew Mlynarski posted his best score in final round action (78) and finished in a tie for 66th with a combined 238 (80-80-78, +22).
Freshman Ty Herriott placed 81st with a combined 247 (86-79-82, +31) while senior Bradley Lucas rounded out the Ohio contingent in a tie for 85th (82-87-81-250, +34).
Ohio now takes a month-long break before returning to action March 19-21 at the Pinehurst Invitational in Pinehurst, N.C.
