Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate Combined Results
HILTON HEAD, S.C. - The Ohio University men's golf team completed the second and third rounds of the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate Tuesday and finished 18th at the event.
The Bobcats combined for a 78-over par, cumulative score of 942 (304-319-319) to wrap up the week in the greater Hilton Head area.
Georgia Southern University captured the tournament title after shooting a 15-over par 879 for the event.
Senior Byron Firestone led the way for Ohio, carding a 16-over par 232 (74-77-81) to finish tied for 46th place. Firestone was tied for 34th after two rounds were completed, but the Canton, Ohio, native dropped to 46th after his final round 81.
Freshman Brad Burgess (St. Catharines, Ontario) played the course at 19-over par for the week (77-79-79-235) to finish tied for 53rd, while junior Connor Coldwater completed the tournament tied for 75th after firing a 24-over par 240 (76-82-82).
Senior Michael Lamping finished tied for 75th after rounds of 80, 81 and 80 (241, +25) and freshman Michael Engelman (Grand Blanc, Mich.) rounded out the group after tying for 80th with a 27-over par 243 (77-87-79).
The Bobcats now take three weeks off before making the trip to famed Pinehurst, N.C., for the Pinehurst Invitational March 10-12.
