Men's Golf Completes Day One At Hoosier Invite

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Ohio University men’s golf team sits in 14th place after 36 holes of action at the NYX Hoosier Invitational.

The Bobcats put forth a combined total of 604 (301-303-604, +36) and trail 13th place-holding Butler by one stroke (298-305-603, +35). Michigan leads the tournament after firing a one-under par combined 567 (283-284).

Freshman Peyton White is currently tied for 35th place to lead Ohio after 36 holes. The Huntersville, N.C. native put together a two-round total of 148 (73-75, +6). White played the par 5s at a combined two-under par through the first day of action and ranked second among the field with a one-under par aggregate in par 3 scoring.

Junior Andrew Mlynarski (St. Michaels, Md.) is t-47th after putting forth a 36-hole score of 150 (76-74, +8). The consistent Mlynarski was t-2nd amongst the field with 27 pars on day one at the IU Golf Course.

Freshman Ty Herriott (Brandywine, Md.) posted a 36-hole total of 152 (77-75, +10) and is tied for 55th. Like White, Herriott played the par 5s at two-under par and posted a strong +1 total in par 3 action.

Senior Bradley Lucas (Worthington, Ohio) is tied for 66th place after firing a combined total of 154 (75-79, +12), while senior Phil Gieseker (Saline, Mich.) is 74th with a total of 159 (80-79, +17). Gieseker led the field with two eagles on Saturday.

The Bobcats finish up the NYX Hoosier Invitational with 18 holes of play Sunday.
