EY Invite Day One
MUNCIE, Ind. – Ohio Men’s Golf completed the first day of competition at the 2012 Earl Yestingsmeir Invitational on Saturday. Through two rounds of play, the Bobcats currently find themselves in sixth place with a total team score of 749.
Louisville holds the overall team lead after the first day, compiling a team score of 717. Host Ball State is in second place, shooting 738 through its first two rounds.
Ohio had a three-way tie for its team lead after Saturday’s competition, as Paul Grauer (Dublin, Ohio), Byron Firestone (Canton, Ohio) and Connor Coldwater (Clarks Summit, Pa.) are all currently tied for 13th place. The three Bobcats all shot the exact same scores in the first and second rounds, all going 75-72 to end the day with scores of 147.
Not too far behind his teammates was Bradley Lucas (Worthington, Ohio), who is currently tied for 37th place. Lucas shot a 77 in the first round and improved his score to a 75 in the second, ending the day with a two-round score of 152.
John Mlynarski (St. Michaels, Md.) and Michael Lamping (Dublin, Ohio) rounded out the day for the Bobcats, finishing tied for 65th and 80th, respectively, in the field of 92 golfers. Mlynarski shot 83 and 74 to end with a 157 while Lamping went 82-80 to end with a 162.
The Bobcats will begin the second and final day of competition at the Invitational on Sunday morning at 9 a.m.
