EY Invite Final Results
MUNCIE, Ind. - Ohio Men's Golf finished competition at the 2012 Yestingsmeir Invitational on Sunday. The Bobcats shot a team score of 388 on the final day, ending the tournament by placing seventh in the field of fifteen teams.
Louisville took the top honors in the tournament, ending with a team score of 1,090. Austin Peay took second, shooting a 1,100 through the three rounds of play. Host Ball State earned the best finish of the Mid-American Conference schools at the tournament, placing third with a score of 1,113.
Connor Coldwater (Clarks Summit, Pa.) led the way for the Bobcats, tying for 16th with a score of 222. The sophomore shot 75s on the first and third rounds while hitting his best mark--72--during the second round. Coldwater's 16th-place finish marked the third time in his career that he has finished in the top 20 of a tournament.
Close at Coldwater's heels were Paul Grauer (Dublin, Ohio) and Byron Firestone (Canton, Ohio). These two Bobcats tied for 22nd at the tournament, shooting three-round scores of 225. Interestingly, Grauer and Firestone shot the exact same scores in each round of the tournament, achieving their 225s by going 75-72-78.
Michael Lamping (Dublin, Ohio) and John Mlynarski (St. Michaels, Md.) rounded out Ohio's participation in the tournament, finishing 69th and 83rd, respectively. Lamping went 82-80-75 to finish with a 237 while Mlynarski shot 83-74-85 to score a 242.
The Bobcats will wrap up the 2012 spring season at the Mid-American Conference Championships on May 4-6. DeKalb, Illinois will be the site of the Championships this season.
