2012 Men's MAC Day Two Get Acrobat Reader

SUGAR GROVE, Ill. - Ohio Men's Golf engineered a terrific turnaround at the second day of the 2012 Mid-American Conference Championships, improving from eighth place to third in just one round. The Bobcats averaged 71.75 as a team en route to shooting a third-round score of 287.

Ohio's top four golfers combined to shoot 17 birdies on Saturday.

Michael Lamping (Dublin, Ohio) and Connor Coldwater (Clarks Summit, Pa.) each had terrific days on Saturday, shooting scores of 71. Lamping is in sixth place with a three-round score of 218 while Coldwater is one stroke and place behind, in seventh with a 219.

Paul Grauer (Dublin, Ohio) and Byron Firestone (Canton, Ohio) shot scores of 72 and 73, respectively, on Saturday. Grauer dropped nine strokes from his second-round score and Firestone dropped eight strokes from his. The two Bobcats are currently tied for 31st at the tournament.

Kent State still holds the overall team lead, having shot an 855 through the first three rounds of play. Eastern Michigan is in second with a score of 895 while Ohio's 896 is only one stroke out of second place.

Bradley Lucas (Worthington, Ohio) rounded out Ohio's participation on Saturday, shooting an 80. He is currently in 37th place with a three-round score of 235.

The Bobcats will finish competition at the tournament on Sunday. Ohio golfers will tee off between 9:50 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. (EST) and will be paired up with student-athletes from Kent State and Eastern Michigan.
