BOWLING GREEN, Ohio-Chad Warmbein’s 67 tied for the low round of the day Tuesday to lead the Ohio men’s golf team at the BGSU John Piper Intercollegiate, which was played at Stone Ridge Golf Club.

 

Warmbein, who tied for 10th with a total of 218, finished 10 shots ahead of teammate Paul Grauer, who fired a 74 Tuesday to tie for 30th. Tim Gusweiler, who led Ohio through two rounds, shot an 80 in the third round to finish with a 230 to tie for 36th. Stewart Jamieson shot 79 to finish at 239 (T-60th), while John Mlynarski shot an 80 to finish at 249 (69th).

 

Bowling Green’s Matt Schneider and Dayton’s Jeff Hodapp tied for the individual title with a three-round total of 211.

 

In the team standings, Ohio finished ninth with a score of 915 (+51). The host Falcons fell to Wisconsin-Green Bay in a playoff after the two finished regulation tied at an even-par total of 864.

 

The Bobcats are back in action this weekend at the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational at Ball State. The tournament will be played at Delaware Country Club in Muncie, Ind.
