ZIONSVILLE, Ind. - The Ohio University men’s golf team shot a final round score of 314 Sunday en route to a ninth place finish at the Wolf Run Invitational at Wolf Run Golf Club in Zionsville, Ind.
Ohio shot a combined 912 (307-291-314, +60) for the tournament and fell from fourth place after two rounds to ninth after notching the final round 314.
Illinois won the event with a three-round score of 844 (282-281-281, -8). Two SEC teams rounded out the top-3. Auburn earned a second place finish with an 877, while Kentucky finished in third with an 882. Thomas Detry of Illinois was the individual champion carding a 209 (69-69-71, -4).
Freshman Peyton White (Huntersville, N.C.) saw great success for Ohio in just his second collegiate tournament. White earned his first career top-10 after finishing in a tie for seventh place with a three-round score of 219 (75-68-76, +6).
Junior Andrew Mlynarski (St. Michaels, Md.) followed White with a three-round score of 228 (75-76-77, +15) to finish t-37th. Senior Connor Coldwater (Clarks Summit, Pa.) then carded a 230 (80-72-78, +17) to end in a tie for 44th place.
Sophomore Brad Burgess (St Catharines, Ontario) and senior Bradley Lucas (Worthington, Ohio) rounded out the lineup for Ohio. Burgess carded a 241(82-75-84, t-62nd), while Lucas shot a 242 (77-82-83, t-64th).
Ohio will return to action at the Firestone Invitational Oct 7-8 in Akron, Ohio.
