LOVELAND, Ohio - In the third event of the fall, the Ohio men's golf team finished 18th in the Xavier Invitational.

The Bobcats shot an 892 in the 54-hole tournament at Oasis Golf Club over the course of two days and finished 18th out of 20 teams in the event. The Bobcats were four strokes behind George Washington, which finished 17th and finished ahead of Davidson and Wright State.

Playing as an individual in his hometown, Tim Gusweiler (Loveland, Ohio) was the best Ohio golfer during in the tournament. The Bobcat sophomore shot an even 216 - including a career-low 70 on Tuesday - to finish in a tie for 32nd among the 104 competitors.

For the second week in a row, Stewart Jamieson (Worthington, Ohio) was the Bobcats' top tournament finisher. The Bobcat sophomore shot a 224 in the event to finish in a tie for 72nd. Mark Phillips (Hilliard, Ohio) and James Ellis (McMurray, Pa.) each shot a 225 in the tourney to finish in a tie for 77th.

Chad Warmbein (McMurray, Pa.) and James McGrath (Connellsville, Pa.) rounded out the Ohio line-up with respective 54-hole scores of 226 and 232. Warmbein finished in a tie for 80th while McGrath was 90th.

Despite not having a golfer in the top-five, Marquette took home the team title with an 841, two strokes ahead of Campbell and Western Carolina. Western Kentucky's Brent Long captured the individual medal with a 13-under 203.

The Bobcat men will next be in action at the Big East/MAC Challenge, Oct. 27-28.
