KETTERING, Ohio – Ohio Men’s Golf wrapped up the fall portion of its 2012-13 season on Tuesday afternoon, tying for 11th place at the University of Dayton Fall Invitational. The Bobcats shot a two-round team score of 610 and finished ahead of six teams at the tournament.

Oakland University claimed top honors at the event, shooting a two-round score of 578 to finish in first place. IPFW and Valparaiso claimed second and third, shooting scores of 588 and 596, respectively.

Byron Firestone (Canton, Ohio) had a solid tournament for the Green and White, tying for 19th in the field of 100 golfers. The senior cut five strokes off his first-round score of 77 to end the tournament with a final total of 149. Firestone shot one eagle throughout the tournament, making him one of only 11 golfers to do so.

Teammates Michael Lamping (Dublin, Ohio) and Brad Burgess (St. Catharines, Ontario) were not far behind, tying for 41st and 54th, respectively. Lamping shot 76-77 to end with a 153 while Burgess carded 73-82 to end the tournament with a 155.

Connor Coldwater (Clarks Summit, Pa.) was Ohio’s next finisher, tying for 69th place with a two-round score of 158. He was followed by senior Bradley Lucas (Worthington, Ohio), who shot a 160 to end the competition tied for 81st.
