Men's Golf Set To Play DePaul

Freshman Ty Herriott is 3-1-0 in match play so far this season.

ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio University men’s golf team returns to action on Saturday to face DePaul. The Callawassie Country Club in Okatie, S.C will be the site of the match.

The Bobcats are coming off a 4-2 win over Bowling Green on Tuesday at the Mid-American Match Play. Freshman Ty Herriott (Brandywine, Md.) won his match, three up, to lead the ‘Cats against the Falcons. He is 3-1-0 in match play this season.

Senior Phil Gieseker (Saline, Mich.) and junior Andrew Mlynarski (St. Michaels, Md.) were both able to secure victories over their opponents by two strokes on Tuesday. Freshman Peyton White (Huntersville, N.C.) also ensured a victory for Ohio after beating Chris Melvin by a single stroke.

The Bobcats defeated DePaul, 4-1, last season on Feb. 16, 2013. Current Ohio team members Connor Coldwater and Brad Burgess, as well as graduate assistant Michael Lamping picked up victories in the match last year.

The match will serve as a tune-up for the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate taking place on Feb. 18-19 in Hilton Head, S.C.
