ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio University men's golf team begins its week in the greater Hilton Head area with a match against BIG EAST foe DePaul Saturday at Chechessee Creek Country Club in Okatie, S.C.
It will mark the third-straight match play competition for the Bobcats. After tying Bowling Green 3-3 on Feb. 9 at the Lake Jovita South Course in Dade City, Fla., Ohio dropped matches to No. 34 Ball State, Miami and Akron at the Mid-American Match Play event at the South Course on Feb. 11-12.
In the team's 4-2 setback against Akron on Feb. 12, Connor Coldwater (Clarks Summit, Pa.) turned in his best performance of the spring season, as the junior was dominant from start to finish in a 6 and 5 victory over Akron's Louis Birchall.
Senior Michael Lamping (Dublin, Ohio) picked up the other victory for the Bobcats with a 4 and 3 win over the Zips' Cameron Simmons.
After their matchup with DePaul, the Bobcats will take the short trip to Hilton Head to compete in Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate Feb. 18-19.
