HILTON HEAD ISLE, S.C. - The Ohio University men's golf team returns to action Monday to compete in the ninth-annual Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate Tournament on Hilton Head Island.
The Wexford Plantation course features 6,828 yards of distance and is a par-72 layout. The format is set for 36 holes of golf on Monday, and a final round of 18 holes on Tuesday. Both days will begin with shotgun starts at 8:30 a.m.
The Bobcats are one of 17 teams competing in the 54-hole event.
The field includes Francis Marion, Austin Peay State University, Campbell University, Charleston Southern University, Cleveland State University, University of Dayton, DePaul University, Elon University, High Point University, Presbyterian College, Radford University, University of Richmond, USC Aiken, Virginia Commonwealth University, Wofford College, and the College of William & Mary.
The Bobcats are coming off a close 8.5-6.5 match play setback to DePaul on Saturday at the Callawassie Country Club in Okatie, S.C.
Senior Bradley Lucas (Worthington, Ohio) played well for Ohio picking up all three points over his opponent, winning the front nine, (36-42), the back nine (40-43) and the 18 hole total (76-85).
Junior Andrew Mlynarski (St. Michaels, Md.) also played well for Ohio, picking up 2.5 of a possible three points against his opponent.
