ATHENS, Ohio - The Ohio University men’s golf team wraps up its South Carolina swing with the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate Feb. 18 and 19 in Hilton Head, S.C.

The Bobcats also competed in the event in 2012 and finished 12th out of 17 teams. It marks the first stroke play event of the 2013 spring season for Ohio.

The Wexford Plantation course, which underwent extensive renovations in 2011 (overseen by the Arnold Palmer Design Company), measures 6,828 yards and is a par 72 layout.

This year's field includes Francis Marion, Campbell University, University of Connecticut, Davidson College, University of Dayton, DePaul University, Elon University, Georgia Southern University, Ohio University, Presbyterian College, Radford University, University of Richmond, Samford University, USC Aiken, University of South Florida, Western Carolina University, the College of William & Mary, and defending team champion Georgia State University.

The tournament will consist of 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. Both days will begin with shotgun starts at 8:30 a.m.

Ohio began its time in the greater Hilton Head area with a 4-1 win over BIG EAST foe DePaul Saturday (Feb. 16) at the Chechessee Creek Country Club in Okatie, S.C.

All five Bobcat golfers earned at least a halve in their matches against the Blue Demons, with four student-athletes earning match victories.

Senior Michael Lamping (Dublin, Ohio) and freshman Brad Burgess (St. Catharines, Ontario) both led throughout their matches and won, 3 and 2, over their Blue Demon opponents.

Junior Connor Coldwater (Clarks Summit, Pa.) played steady throughout his match and converted a number of pars to stay in front throughout the back nine. Coldwater won his match, 2 and 1.
